Feel free to steal mine- the Book.

When we host, I write the names of the guests and what was served in the Book.

Then, when we invite them again, I can flip through the Book and check that I'm not about to serve them the same thing twice in a row.

Edit: this also does double duty as my “menu blackboard”

I honestly look forward to your Friday newsletters and each one is an absolute delight to read! These are all such great tips and I shall copy them for my next dinner with friends!

The point about the menu is so valid - I never thought about it that way but it makes complete sense. And now I understand why my dad always prints out the menus for special occasion meals at home! It also provides a nice memento. And yes, it’s always printed because no one can decipher that man’s handwriting (he would have made a fine doctor purely for that reason alone!)
